Baby Bathing Suits

I have one friend who just had a little boy, and another who is expecting so I’ve seen first hand how much preparation goes into having a child. When it comes to a life changing event like having a baby, you can’t just head into it and hope for the best. It takes some serious planning. Babies may not have been part of your life’s plan, but you still have several months to get everything situated. With that said, here are some tips on how you can plan ahead for your baby.

Get Out Of Season Clothes: My friend who just had her baby, lets call her Angela (since that’s her name), gave me a curious look when I gave her a swim suit for the baby as a gift, mostly because it’s January. She also raised an eyebrow when the suit was fit for a six to nine month old. But I got the swim suit at a low cost since it’s not in season, and he’ll be about that size this summer. My friend who is pregnant, Kelly, is due in May, so she’ll get winter clothes from me for her little guy. I don’t want to give off the impression that I’m cheap, I gave infant winter gear to Angela and I’ll give an infant bathing suit to Kelly. Those babies need clothes right away too!

Slowly Childproof Your Home: Once you find out you’re expecting, you actually have about two years before you’ll need to child proof your home. Nine of those 24 months are spent being pregnant, and the rest the baby is pretty immobile, so you don’t have to worry about him getting into stuff. Child proofing is expensive so instead of having to spend a bundle right when the baby starts running around, just get some childproofing stuff here and there. By the time he’s able to open all the cabinets, you’ll be set and your wallet won’t know the difference.

Save For College Right Away: This is a tough one. Babies are expensive so stashing a few extra bucks here and there for college can be tough. Also emergencies might arise where you have to dip into that college fund in order to pay off an unexpected expense. There are accounts you can open that can’t be withdrawn from until the child is 18, so that would be my recommendation.
