My baby was suffering from acid reflux when I bought this in a panic. She started to roll onto her side at 3 weeks and had been sleeping like that ever since but I wanted to put her on her tummy to sleep sometimes so she wouldn't feel like she was drowning all the time. I was terrified that she would die from SIDS or suffocate. I'm sort of a paranoid type A person so I realize that she would probably be fine but didn't want to take my chances. The monitor works perfectly. The only thing I don't like is how loud the ticking is in her room but I don't mind hearing it all night. I sleep better with it because I'm not worried about her. We have had no false alarms but it did go off one night. She was breathing when I made it to her room but you could tell she hadn't been. I also have a video monitor on her so I can see her and lately she's been moving around in her crib and it still picks her up just fine. I would buy this again without a doubt. I just wish I had known about it sooner.

We bought this product because a family member recommended it and I am glad we did. It's scary at first getting used to it and making sure that you turn the monitor off when you pick up your baby otherwise it will start beeping. It's nice to know that it will detect if there isn't any movement for 15 seconds so you can check on you little one. I would recommend to anyone.

I bought this on the recommendation of a friend after my newborn choked while napping 2 feet away from me. This is my 3rd child, but this episode was particularly frightening to me because she did not make any noise or evidence any distress and I only happened to notice she was dark purple and not able to breathe by chance. Even though her crib is right next to our bed I was worried it would happen at night and we would not hear her and be able to help her. I bought this angelcare monitor and used it every night thereafter with no troubles - that is until about a week ago. The alarm went off and my baby was not breathing. I had been sound asleep when it happened and would never have known anything was going on. We were not able to get her breathing again easily and she ended up completely limp and blue before she started to breathe again. I had never been more focused and urgent in my life, while simultaneously being absolutely terrified. Our baby was diagnosed with a more severe form of GERD than she had previously been diagnosed with (associated with frequent spitting up). Without getting into a lengthy medical explanation, her version can cause severe apnea (failure to breathe) and death in infants. Our Dr. believes that without the angelcare monitor our baby would have died that night and we would have woken to a tragedy the following morning. She is now on a stage 2 apnea monitor 24x7, but without using the angelcare monitor and having the alarm go off we would not have known there was a problem until it was too late. I never had interference, feedback, or any negative thoughts, experiences or opinions about any aspect of this monitor. It is unobtrusive and effective. Our family owes this product a great deal, and I plan to purchase this as my official gift to any baby shower I go to, and to recommend it to anyone and everyone I can. Even if your baby has no medial problems, I feel it is better safe than sorry. After all, we thought she was perfectly healthy.
