I tried using the boppy pillow. Our boy couldn't lay straight with my breast. And his body was sinking on each side. We had to prop pillows under both sides. We went to our lactation consultant appointment at our pediatrician and this is the pillow that they used. Our boy laid perfectly with my breast and man it was so much easier to nurse! Our lactation consultant even told me that the boppy pillow was NEVER designed to be a nursing pillow but they advertise it as one. This pillow was specifically designed for nursing. At the beginning I didn't think that nursing was going to work for me, but after going in for my lactation consultant appointment I was taught how to properly latch my baby on and I had found the proper pillow to use to make it easier on my boy and myself. We have a My Brest Friend for home and one in the car for on the go. I have now been successfully nursing for going on 9 months now. Please do not buy the Boppy.

I breast fed with my first child and I had the Boppy. I thought the boppy was good. But when i saw this it looked even better. I thought, if I don't like it, I can return it. It is wonderful! I am so glad I made the investment. You will have much more flexibility in positioning and comfort with this vs. the boppy!

This is really the best nursing pillow on the market. This is the nursing pillow that is recommended by lactation consultants. I can really see why. I really love this one. It has made my breastfeeding experience so pleasurable. This pillow brings baby into the perfect position for nursing. It also fastens around your waist so that the pillow is snug around you and the baby does not roll into the middle of the pillow like with the Boppy. It also has a pocket to keep nursing pads, pacifiers and other small items. The slipcover also washes up really nicely too. This is one of my favorite breastfeeding accessories and I would recommend it to anyone.

I purchased the Breast Friend over the standard Boppy thinking it was better designed to support the newborn during breastfeeding. I do think this is true but it has some major issues that make me wish I had just stuck to the standard Boppy. It is made of hard Styrofoam with makes it difficult to sit in chairs with arms while you nurse. You have to wrap it around you (there is no place to put that back support if you do not) which just digs into your back if you are sitting in a chair and leaning back at all. When you stand up, you have this thing clinging to you and no hands free to remove it (forget trying to get it off without waking the baby) which is a hassle too. Finally, it is not as versatile as a Boppy. It might work for some, but I just ended up using pillow(s) instead.

Started with the Bobby, and I could not get comfortable while feeding my daughter. I needed my husband to prop additional pillows under the Bobby for support while I fed her. If I needed to switch breasts with the Boppy...fugehdabouit. The Breastfriend needs no additional support whatsoever, and never slides away from you if reach forward for water, the phone, or shift your weight because your bum is sore after the birth. Some women wrote they had it strapped to them for 6 months... I am going on 11 months. Thank God I decided to bring it with me on a flight from Tokyo to the US. Can you imagine propping up 15 airline pillows, and then worry abut the baby bumping her head on the arm rests. Don't waste time, space in you house, or your money on the Bobby...the Breastfriend is the only pillow you will need.

I only had the boppy pillow with my 1st child & never got the hang of using it...my baby always seemed to be falling foward or backward which made nursing awkward. My 2nd baby was born early & was small so we had a hard time with nursing. It was hard trying to juggle him while helping with latching on correctly. I decided to purchase one of these pillows & am very grateful that I did. It has made nursing much easier & more enjoyable! It gives me great back support & my baby has a flat surface to lie on. The newer one that I got has a clip & not the velcro to fasten it so it's quiet. The one concern I had was if it was going to fit me properly cuz I am a smaller build...it fits great & is very adjustable! My advice: Don't waste your money on a boppy!!

I am so happy with this product. I have always heard great things about them, but I never tried them before now I have and I am sure glad I did. Very useful and I love the different patterns you can get for them.
