I bought this seat because it was one of the few that would fit in the narrow rear seat of a BMW convertible. And yes, I did also buy it because of Recaro's racing history. But in the end, it did not live up to the reputation of the name. The materials, fit and finish are mediocre. The materials feel cheap and you can see the backing at the seam edges. The real problem comes with the fit and finish of the plastic. Because of a large seam between the bottom and the back, the yoke (the piece of metal connecting the two belts with the center strap) gets stuck. It can give you the impression that the belts are tight, but they are not. This is very dangerous in case of an accident. The other problem is the A-lock (the center strap lock). Due to loose tolerances, the center strap gets stuck between the lock and the edge of the lock. This prevents the lock from releasing when you need to loosen the belts. Now you have to struggle to release the belts trying not to hit the poor kid stuck in the seat. Plus that the center strap gets fraid.

My car was too small for the alpha omega that my son was quickly outgrowing (because of my compact car...). He just didn't fit with the chunky base under the car seat, so I looked into new car seats for him with a flatter base. He was fitted by a fireman and put into this seat. He is 4 years old, 40 inches tall and 36 lbs. I am keeping him in the harness as long as possible, because he knows how to get out of the lap belt on a booster. The fireman said that I should keep him in the 5 pt. harness at LEAST until he hits 40 lbs. I LOVE this seat. The safety features are amazing and as soon as my other child is old enough, I'll buy Recaro again! The only thing is the very first time I put him in the seat, he begged for his old seat and I thought...oh no! Well that only lasted less that a week. Plus when he sleeps he is upright and his head is nicely supported, he is NOT slouched over like in the regular booster that we have. I HIGHLY recommend this seat, plus getting it in and out is a breeze with the latch this comes with. This seat is the best!

Originally had bought another seat from another store, never took it out of the box and went back and forth in my head on whether or not the Recaro was worth the money... Best decision i've made in a LONG time, taking back the other seat and ordering this. The quality, safety features and comfort it appears to give my daughter is worth it!! She sleeps in it without her head tipping forward, the straps are soft and dont bother her even when snug... the head rest is perfect... highly recommended.

This carseat is exactly what all the other reviews had said. Very comfy padding, more than the other 2 carseats I have owned with my other 2 children and I had a Graco and then Evenflow. Definetly worth every penny. Has a dial on the base to help better level it other than using a swimming noodle like we have used in the past. I can say the only complaint which others have complained about as well is the base is very heavy and kinda big, but you don't normally move it anyway and as long as you aren't driving a very small car it should fit just fine. We have a pathfinder which doesn't have all that much room and a camry and we have no problems with it and I have a booster seat right next to it and it still fits. One of the better carseats that are out there and for the price, it is even a steal. I have researched infant carseats for the last year and I made the right decision.

We bought this car seat for our grandson before he was born and now our second grandson is riding around in it, snug as a bug. The car seat is so easy to move from vehicle to vehicle, even if that includes moving the base. We bought 2 bases - one for mom and one for dad - but didn't think to get extras for the grandmas and poppas. No worries! The push button latch system is a snap to use. Far easier than any other system or car seat we own. The 5 point harness is also super easy to adjust over baby's little body. We added a head rest because the one included was too floppy. We also added little comfy shoulder strap covers to protect baby's delicate neck area. One complaint - the hood comes off the car seat nearly every time it is adjusted. It is a pain to make any adjustments to the hood and it is a very cheap, very un-userfriendly design. Otherwise, this is a perfect little car chair for infants. We love it - all 6 of us.

i got this to go with my zippy stroller, but i wish i knew how big it was. there is no way anyone with a smaller car can use this without rendering the front seat useless. bummer, cuz it seems like a great seat! very nice looking.

We've had the infant carrier adapter bar for the Baby Jogger City Mini for about 4 months now and I have to say it isn't difficult to switch between the carrier bar and using the stroller without. It's great to be able to let our daughter continue sleeping if you want to run into the store quickly. There are two buttons on each side of the stroller to allow you to connect and disconnect the adapter bar. As for the stroller's canopy, it folds back out of the way (just like it does for storage) when you attach the infant carrier. All in all, it was a purchase I'd make again.

    2. Star FullStar FullStar EmptyStar EmptyStar Empty Posted: Jun 19 2008

The bar itself works fine, just know that for the City Mini, it will not look like it does in this picture. In order to use the infant carrier bar with the City Mini, you have to take off the whole seat and canopy, leaving you basically with just the stroller frame. We're going to buy a stroller frame (for the same price as the bar) so we don't have to wait until our baby is out of the infant carrier seat to use the rest of the stroller (since it's not easy to switch back and forth from the frame to the regular stroller). If you have the room to store it, you may be happier getting a separate frame instead. Otherwise, the bar will work fine and you'll just have to wait to use the stroller part until baby grows out of the carrier.

I purchased this bag to fly with my 17 month old. The bag easily fit my Britax Convertible Roundabout seat. There was still room to stash blanket and a couple jackets. I'm 5'2'' and I used this as a backpack so that I could push a stroller and pull a rolling suitcase behind - and it worked like a charm. It was pretty lightweight and fit comfortably. I think I looked pretty ridiculous, like I was carrying a cello on my back- but at the end of the day, I was able to carry all of our luggage and the seat was padded & protected. Quality construction.

Our Ultimate bag has survived multiple trans-Atlantic flights and 6+ Caribbean/European/US domestic flights per year since 2004 (it's now Aug. 2008). It has a few rips which are completely the fault of the airline (one looks like an actual knife cut it), which I've mended with duct tape, and still it keeps going. I absolutely cannot recommend it enough for its durability. By comparison, we purchased a 'cheap' alternative last year for our 2nd child. That thing was absolutely destroyed in one single trip overseas. The Ultimate Travel Bag is head and shoulders above its competition. I CANNOT RECOMMEND IT HIGHLY ENOUGH. If you want something with wheels - I see that's an alternate model now. I would warn, however, the "other" bag we bought, it had wheels - and those were the first things the airlines popped off.

I purchased this bag for a trip. I didn't want my $300 Britax to get destroyed. My Britax Decathalon fit perfectly and we even put some heavy coats in the seat instead of our suitcases! The bag held up well and my seat was perfect at the end of our trip! I *thought* I was purchasing a bag with wheels. That is the only thing I wish it had. Otherwise, great product!

This is by far the best car seat we have owned. It is very secure, and our son rides comfortably in it. It reclines enough so that when he falls asleep, his head and neck have support and don't fall forward. He sits up high and enjoys being able to see where we are going now that he is forward facing. I wish we had been smart enough to buy this car seat first instead of buying the "cutsie" rear-facing one only. Well worth the extra dollars spent. Our son's safety has no price tag.

The Britax Marathon is a great car seat. The whole Britax line is great. Once you go Britax you can never go back! Worth the money!

This is a great carseat. My infant carseat was a Graco and this one feels five times more sturdy. It doesn't really take up more room than my rear facing one did because the back is against the seat. I think it's worth the money.

This is an OK product. It will give your baby plenty of side coverage from the sun. That said, the front of it sticks up pretty high (higher than the photos in this product listing) and it's going to take some extra securing to try to get it to tilt down a bit. Two downsides to this problem : 1) my baby doesn't really gain much in terms of concealing from the sun coming through the back window; 2) the top of the product actually obscures the lower 50% of the middle of my rear view mirror. So reversing and trying to keep track of the distance of cars behind me are both difficult. Also, I ordered white/navy because I figured that would be more reflective of heat, a cooler ride for my baby. But it arrived in black. Overall, it's of lightweight fabric with wire enforcement inside. Ladies- kind of think like an underwire bra. So in terms of durability... well, my 6 month old is already enjoying tugging and punching it. You might want to keep looking at your options. If you're mainly after side-coverage, it might fit what you are looking for.

The Peg Perego base is very secure. I would definitely recommend the base and infant car seat to other parents.

    2. Star FullStar FullStar FullStar FullStar Full Posted: Aug 21 2007

In our opinion, Peg Perego infant carriers and bases had the best reputation for safety and quality among our friends and family. We were able to purchase separate bases to install and to keep in our individuals cars so that there was no hassle in installing bases whenever the baby switched cars. It was easy to install and the "click" made us sure that our baby was safe and secure. I highly recommend Peg Perego to my family and friends!
