I purchased the Ergo baby Carrier as a gift from a relative's baby registry. She is delighted with the carrier, especially the feature of being able to carry the baby in the front or the back.

Well let's say that we've heard so many good things about this carrier that we sold our brand new never used Baby Bjorn carrier and we got this one instead. What a mistake that was. It is true that compare to the Baby Bjorn this carrier was very simple and looked comfortable at first glance but when the time for a test drive came I found out that sometimes you have to stick with your initial choice. I am 6.2 tall and weight around 200 pounds. My pants size is 34 and I had to extend the waist belt on the Ergo carrier to the end and I still felt uncofortable with the way it fell. So if you are planing to buy this carrier and you are man with pants size 34 or more please know that the waist belt will NOT FIT YOU. I don't know why the manifacturer does not provide a little bit of slack on this belt but this is a major flaw in this carrier for me personally. If you are slim and fit well this is you carrier no doubt about it otherwise look for another option.

We bought these before traveling to Europe for a big family vacation with our 11 month old twin boys and they were an absolute life saver - I shudder to imagine our trip without them. First, when I tried them at home both boys immediately loved them. They are very cozy in a comfortable position right next to you which they both instantly loved - smiling up at me contentedly. And they are comfortable to wear. I have had two serious back injuries that make me really nervous about carrying anything that will put extra strain on my back and these were great. The weight is centered on your hips not your back so there is no weird pulling or strain. We wore these all over the Amalfi coast walking up and down the rocky cliffsides and never once experienced back discomfort. (We also tried the Kelty Frame Carrier which was highly rated and reviewed but both my husband and I experienced a lot of back discomfort with this and didn't even take it on our trip) Also, the kids sleep in them. We used them out of desperation on the flight and they both passed out for essentially the entire 8 hour flight. There is a little hood that goes over their head if they do fall asleep that shields them from the light and activity and also supports their head/ protects them from the sun etc. They napped all over Italy in these carriers. And, my almost two year old nephew who was also on the trip even fell asleep when we put him into one. One reviewer mentioned that they don't look too flattering which may or may not be true depending on your body type but neither my wife or I found this to be a problem. I have lots of gear that I love but this is the ONLY thing I have ever written a review for, I don't really think you can go wrong with this carrier.
