I feel that for my 4th child I have a better idea about what I really need. I felt after borrowing a seat for my last 2 children that I needed to buy my own (what I had purchased previously had either broken or the baby didn't like it). I read a lot of reviews and decided to go with this glider. I am so happy that it turned out to be a good choice. The way it is shaped is nice and cozy feeling to the baby... the next best thing to being held. It really does soothe him. The batteries last a long time... we have used this a ton in the last three weeks and have not had to change batteries. The music variety makes it so it is not annoying. It also is a very safe with a base that stays put and straps that adjust to fit the baby. It also sits at just the right angle so that an infant is sitting enough to be able to look around a little, but not far forward enough to fall forward (like the swings I have tried... which is so annoying and unsafe!). I think it also has good resale value through avenues like Craigslist and local classifieds. Thanks Fisher Price!

The BEST Baby seat!!! As a new mom- I likely went overboard with the baby gear- we have it all- the glider, the bouncer, the swing, and the jumparoo (for when he's older- but the 1 I couldn't be without is BY FAR the Glider! From the time we came home with him it been wonderful- you can put the baby in while grabbing a bite to eat- bring it in the bthrm while taking a shower etc... He's 2 mths old and I use it nearly everyday- and have NOT changed the batteries yet! Now that he's more alert he is quite interested in the bunny and bear hanging (though they don't look that exciting to a baby they are :) I also have the FP Rainforest Swing & Bouncer seat- both good for stimulation and playtime now that he's getting older and more alert, but THE GLIDER is THE BEST!!!

With our first child, we bought two Nature's Touch Papasan Cradle swings, one for upstairs and the other for down. This time around, I opted to save on space and decided to purchase the soothing motions glider based on the reviews found here. I have found the following: PROS: 1) Definitely is better on space compared to the papasan swing (or at least appears that way as it sits so low to the ground) 2) Same forward and side to side motion as the papasan swing, which is great depending on which motion baby prefers 3) 360 degree rotation allows you to position baby in any direction you move around the room CONS: 1) The fabric is a real eye-sore and I have seriously considered re-upholstering it myself (baby bunnies against the backdrop of yellow fabric versus neutral colors of the Papasan or Lamb Papasan). 2) Only two speeds available for rocking motion. The papasan swing has several more which is great because as baby gets heavier, you can increase the speed of the swing to suite the weight. 3) I am not thrilled with the music and therefore leave it off (nursery rhymes versus nature sounds on the Nature's Touch) 4) The motor is definitely louder than the Papasan All in all, I've been willing to balance out the cons with the pros because of the space factor. In terms of the aesthetics, I have placed my own lightweight blanket over the swing.
