This gate was easy to install and looks nice. Our 70 lb. dog can't jump over and the baby can't open it. It is easy to open for an adult or older child. Would highly recommend.

We have four of these gates and they have been used daily for almost five years. They are as solid as the day they were purchased. We went with the Kidco wood gate initially because we have an old house that we spent lots of time restoring and felt that the wood look went with the house better than new "space age" looking gates. Five years later, we are happy that we made the decision because the gates look great in the house, and they have stood up to all of the use and abuse our three kids could dish out. Other reviewers have noted that there is a bar that goes along the base of the gate that is easy to trip over. It takes a couple of days to get used to this, but hasn't been a problem for us. Also, another reviewer questioned the longevity of the gates due to the constant opening and closing of the handles. Honestly, these gates have held up to constant use and we haven't had ANY problems with them whatsoever. The best part about them is that they truly child proof. We have "Houdini" nephews that haven't been able to get through them in all this time.
