I originally got this puppy for my daughter's 1st birthday in 2004. Since then it has been a huge success with every kid that comes into my home. Now my 1 yr old twins and the 3 other children I watch in my home love it. It is durable (has not broken or chipped since purchase), inexpensive for the value, and cleans super easy. It makes a great gift.

Our daughter received the Rocking Puppy as a gift for her 1st birthday. My wife and I immediately agreed that it's hideous and so we and left it in the box in the garage for weeks. Then our daughter saw the same thing at a friend's house and seemed to really enjoy it, so we figured we'd give it a shot. The Rocking Puppy prominently features plastic flashing from the mold - you'll want to sand it down to make sure it doesn't scratch your kid or snag finer fabrics. No biggie. Also features a needlessly huge logo. Our living room isn't the NASCAR pit area, but whatever. Saves us the trouble of explaining to all our jealous friends how and where to buy the product. A word of caution: Assembly instructions call for a hammer and a wood block. No joke. You're supposed to bang the nose/ears/eyes into place. We found that it was easy enough to press-fit the parts without caveman tools, merely using our hands. Even when combined, these apparent flaws do little to diminish the fact that our daughter simply loves the Rocking Puppy. She also has the Rody (which also has a pointless logo), but Rocking Puppy is more stable and easier to mount/dismount. Rocking Puppy is probably made from nuke-proof non-recycled plastics (hence 5-star durability rating), but so what? It will outlast 23 generations of infants and keep on rocking. We are already faced with the conundrum of keeping the Rocking Puppy in case we ever have another kid, or regifting it at the first indication that our little girl has reached a new developmental stage. RP comes in a large box, so this is the perfect item to buy with Amazon Prime - Given the relatively low cost, it seems like the product is an example of Little Tikes doing UPS a favor, since the shipper is probably the only one who can actually make $$ on this thing (wonder if UPS gives a kickback?)... Not that our daughter cares about any of these potential deficiencies - for now, she just wants to keep on rocking. Recommended!

My son loves this toy. He can get on and off it himself and likes to push it around the house.
